Relationship advice for an INTJ female going into college?
I’ve been tested for the Myers-Brigg personality type, and have consistently been said to be an INTJ. Any advice as to how I should get guys’ attention in college, or what guys I should go for??? I’ve never been in any relationship.

INFJ here, best advice I can give is NOT to look for a relationship as one will come to you when the time is right as long as you are making yourself available (going to parties, bars, etc.)

Don’t worry, you will meet guys because they’re everywhere. You can’t *not* meet them. And a lot of them will also be INTJs.

First, congrats on discovering your personality type. That can make understanding yourself so much easier. Second, know what characteristics you are looking for in a guy (a relationship standard to guide you), and don’t compromise. Third, be yourself and don’t make any changes that don’t suit who you are to start a relationship. Fourth, don’t rush into anything sexual which can lead to a lot of regrets. Enjoy the friendship process and the dating process. I can’t tell you what decision to make, but I think it’s much better to wait until marriage to have sex. I know that’s so old-fashioned, but it saves a lot of heartache.

If you read up on your personality type you’ll learn lots of fascinating things. On the Jung Myers-Briggs typology I’m an INFP. One description I read fit me perfectly which was so eerie that I was laughing so hard I cried. It’s like “Was someone looking over my shoulder documenting my life?” Another site had some more details, a lot of which I fit. Of course not every INFP or INTJ, for example, will fit the profile perfectly because then each of us within a personality type would be exactly alike. How boring.

As for getting guys’ attention, be confident, be yourself, and join clubs and activities you like where you might find guys who interest you. To find the personality type who would make a good boyfriend, you might want to “learn” new things where a guy with one of those personality types might be willing to teach or assist you. That’s great for at least three reasons. You get to see him doing something he likes, he can share his knowledge (which is something that can appeal to his ego), and you get to spend time with a guy who has a fundamental match to your personality type.
